Astride his supercharged hot rod like a kind of kinky Jason, Swedish Olympic-class weight lifter Nilsson takes the apocalypse to places Schwarzenegger will never go. Leader of a group of hybrid punk-biker fashion gods, this metal messiah has a PA built into his car in order to deliver motivational speeches to his mental minions while they lay siege to the last outpost of Australian civilization. ‘Androgyny,’ notes the Mad Max Wiki, ‘is widely exhibited by a significant portion of the group.’ His signature weapon is an SS pistol, and his nitro-fuelled death is as glorious as it is iconic. ‘Greetings from The Humungus! The Lord Humungus! The Warrior of the Wasteland! The Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla!’
